We were very inspired to take part in The Mill’s Women in VFX panel in celebration of International Women’s Day 2017. The event was hosted at The Mill’s London Studio, in collaboration with Animated Women UK.
With almost 100 people in attendance, Allison was one of the seven panelists sharing their experiences and thoughts on their journeys in the industry.
The panel featured; Design Director and Co-Founder Allison Brownmoore from Blue Spill, VFX Supervisor and Head of 2D Sara Bennett from Milk, Digital Artist Bimpe Allen from ILM, Producer Noga Alon-stein from Union Films, Graphic R&D Designer Sarah Invernizzi from Framestore, VFX Artist Ceylan Shevket from MPC and Mill 3D Artist Marta Carbonell Amela.
The panel session, which focussed on issues pertaining to Women in VFX, was followed by a lengthy Q&A session. And finally the panelists and audience moved upstairs to enjoy networking over drinks with fellow industry members and key recruiters. Thanks kindly to the Mill for hosting such an incredibly important event, and for Animated Women UK for their work in bringing the event and related issues to the forefront.
