We were very honoured to have designed for four incredible films featured at this years’ Sundance Film Festival. These were;
- Gideon’s Army (Dir: Dawn Porter/ Prod: Julie Goldman)
- God Loves Uganda (Dir: Roger Ross Williams/ Prod: Julie Goldman)
- Muscle Shoals: (Dir/Prod: Greg ‘Freddy’ Camalier)
- Manhunt: (Dir: Greg Barker/ Prod: John Battsek)
Three of the films we motion designed in completion, whilst Manhunt was designed with The Mill, LA. Our work across the films varied, from vfx work comping Etta James to designing the font and look of the main film title. Some of the films required very heavy narrative captioning and others required several minute motion designed sequences.
Each of the films were based in the States, and were worked on remotely from our London base. We worked closely with producers and directors over Skype and delivered via FTP and drives.
Gideon’s Army very deservedly took the prize for Editing in US Documentary, and we’re looking forward to catching Muscle Shoals and God Loves Uganda as they head over to the UK for Sundance London in April.
