Blue Spill designed five motion sequences for the film Jaco, which premiered at SXSW March 2015. The film depicts the life and death of jazz musician Jaco Pastorius.

Co-produced by Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo and John Battsek of Passion Pictures and directed by Stephen Kijak and Paul Marchand.

Our work with the film involved creating motion sequences with photographic archive, using the images to bring to life Jaco’s incredible musicality and complimenting his experimental sounds with respective visuals.  The sequences were designed by Allison Brownmoore and delivered to the LA based edit.
